Willis named to NZ team for Berlin World Champs

WELLINGOTN, NZL - Nick Willis, the 2008 Olympic bronze medalist at 1500m, has been selected by Athletics New Zealand to compete in the 1500m at the 2009 IAAF World Championships to be held this summer in Berlin, Germany.

Willis, who holds the New Zealand national record at 1500m, was a finalist at 1500m at the 2007 IAAF World Championships in Osaka, and hopes to replicate his medal-winning run from Beijing this summer in Berlin. In addition to capturing the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics, Willis is also the 2006 Commonwealth Games Champion, also over 1500m. Read more…
