Background
After winning bronze at the 2001 World Youth Championships in her first international race when she was but 16, Sentayehu began running the senior circuit in 2002 and won her first race there, at 3000 meters at the Asics Grand Prix II in Helsinki, in 8:52.88. In 2006, she married her longtime love and Ethiopian 800m record-holder, Berhanu Alemu. |
