Hoppel wins 1000m as Wightman breaks GB record at NB Indoor GP

In a thrilling early season race, America's Bryce Hoppel held off Great Britain's Jake Wightman for the win in the men's 1000m at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix. Hoppel's winning time of 2:17.41 makes him the 3rd-fastest American in history, while Wightman's runner-up time of 2:17.51 broke Matthew Yates' 28 year-old British record.
